This posting is for an entry level position which will engage with a variety of industry leading technology and IP implemented in silicon to develop advanced MCU-based solutions to address a variety of challenges faced in Industrial and Internet-of-Things application spaces. This position will report to the Manager of Systems Engineering team.

Job Duties Include: 
- Development of MCU based embedded systems and solutions.
- Firmware and software design in support of solution development.   
- Participate in Design Reviews of MCU-based boards, systems, and firmware/software.
- Assist in MCU board and system bring-up and debugging.
- Create supporting technical documentation for firmware and solutions.
- Work with Renesas regional and cross-functional teams, such as application engineers and marketing, to ensure solution alignment with product requirements and project objectives.
- Evaluate, recommend improvements, and enhance User Experience related to engineering collateral.
- Create and present training material for MCUs, designs, and firmware or software.

BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering. 

Required Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge of modern CPU architectures such as ARM Cortex-M33, M23, M4, or M0+ in a microcontroller implementation.
- Demonstrated experience with firmware/software skills using assembly, C and C++. 
- Deep knowledge and experience with multi-threaded/multi-tasking applications using RTOS.
- Experience with developing embedded (microcontroller-based) products or systems, and debugging, using IDEs like Eclipse, IAR, Keil MDK, etc.
- Some experience with design of digital and analog H/W for board-level circuits, including interfacing MCU and sensor signal conditioning systems. Ability to read and interpret schematics and PCB layouts.
- Familiarity or some experience with board bring-up and debugging for complex MCU based products/systems.
- Excellent communication including technical writing and presentation skills.
- Operating lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, etc.

Desirable experience: 
- Familiarity with ThreadX, FreeRTOS, AliOS, etc.
- Familiarity with proprietary Renesas microcontroller products or RISC-V.
- Knowledge of Git, Unit Testing Frameworks in C or C++, profiling performance.
- Application of Cryptography, and secure software design methodology.
- Practical knowledge of one or more of the following: Wireless sensor networks, Low Power operation, Security, applied artificial intelligence, Robotics, Digital Signal Processing, Complex wired communication technologies such as CAN, Ethernet, and USB, mobile application UI programming (Android, iOS), Cloud connectivity, Arm® TrustZone®.
