  • This engineer will work under a senior level Field Applications Engineer to assist with the development of new customer designs, perform technical reviews, and provide analysis and troubleshooting efforts
  • Extensive hands-on customer support will be required
  • Efforts will be focused on understanding and demonstrating Renesas’s value proposition and solving technical concerns in order to promote the widest and deepest usage of Renesas products
  • You will be the primary technical resource for pre-sales and post-sales support for your account base and region
  • Your main responsibility is securing design wins across a wide range of customers using the entire Renesas Portfolio
  • You will meet with customers and use your expertise to cultivate design opportunities, position Renesas products, demonstrate technology, address customer obstacles and advance opportunities from securing the socket to design wins
  • You will provide real-time support in both reactive and proactive modes for key customers and the sales team
  • You are highly driven, customer-focuses, hold excellent problem solving and communication skills, and have the ability to handle several complex issues at the same time
  • You will support customers on-site, if needed, as they work through system related bring-up or deal with any Renesas product related issues.
  • Must understand customers’ application and technical requirement, understand Renesas product strength and weakness and understand competition in terms of product performance, feature, and pricing to determine the best solution.
  • Leads the effort for technical discovery of design requirements for key customer designs using a top-down process (block diagraming)
  • Establish a close relationship with designers, component engineers, the local sales team, and distributors
  • Provide guidance on the value and strategic fit of Renesas products and then work with the account teams to establish the proper sales goals and strategy
  • The candidate needs to manage business opportunities, work with customers from the start of design to mass production
  • Coordinate resources in Renesas for all technical issues.
  • Achieve assigned design win and revenue goals for Renesas products
  • Provide competitive updates to the field and help develop strategies to overcome competitive obstacles
  • Establish dialogue with marketing and management teams of the assigned customer base, including updates on progress relative to objectives, market dynamics and competition
  • Able to prepare evaluation boards for customer demonstration and deliver demos on-site at the customer
  • Must be able to quickly and effectively troubleshoot power supply and timing designs, assist with external component selection and board layout, lead technical discussions and present technical features and benefits of Renesas products
  • Able to conduct schematic/layout review on-site with customer and support “bring-up” of boards on-site in the customer’s lab



  • BSEE and at least three years of work experience in a related field
  • Knowledge of the semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge in most of these product areas: analog electronics, servo control, switching power topology, PLL, VCO and Clock Tree discovery
  • Applies business acumen to strive for success while prioritizing efforts towards highest ROI opportunities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are mandatory, as customer interface will be a significant aspect of the job
  • Must be a self-motivated team player who is able to take direction, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and communicate effectively
