Renesas Electronics America is seeking an experienced Analog/Power Design Engineer to join the Automotive Power IC (PMIC) Design Group at Milpitas, California Design Center. This Design Engineer will work on cutting-edge power solutions for Automotive Application Processors (System on Chip, SOCs), that provide challenging learning opportunities.

- Perform transistor-level design of analog/power circuits that may include multiple power handling modules.

- Apply in-depth understanding of CMOS and Bi-CMOS circuit design techniques, both existing and those under development, to design innovative IP blocks.

- Lead derivative or brand new PMICs from initial concept through production release.

- Interface with Layout, Verification, Test, Product, and Application Engineers.

- Communicate on technical issues and other design aspects with internal teams, and with customers.

- Validation and debugging of the designed blocks and fixing of silicon issues.

- Work in a team environment with low levels of supervision and participate in design reviews.


- MSEE with 5+ years or Ph.D. with 3+ years or BSEE with 7+ years of relevant industry experience with a strong background in analog/power design and a proven record of successfully released power products.
- 3+ years of Integrated Analog Circuit design experience.
- 3+ years of Bipolar, Bi-CMOS, and CMOS process technologies and circuit design techniques.
- Design experience in submicron processes and detailed understanding of layout tradeoffs.
- Exposure to designing for ESD and latch-up robustness.

- Required design experience with several or some of the following: LDOs, Bandgap, DC-DC Switching Regulators (Buck, Boost, Charge-pumps, etc.,), various modulator architectures (current mode, voltage mode, hysteretic, etc.,), integrated Power FETs and drivers, current limit protection circuits, rail to rail amplifiers, precision amplifiers, oscillators, switched-capacitor circuits, comparators, A/D-D/A data converters.

- Working knowledge of Mixed-Signal Cadence tools and parasitic parameter extraction is a plus.

- Experience working with small geometry BCD processes is a plus.

- Experience with behavioral block level modeling and analog/mixed-signal verification methodologies is a plus.
