Job Description

This is an opportunity to join a top-notch position in our Battery Management Systems and Video Signal Processing product group within Renesas’ leading Automotive Business Unit. You will be part of a very skilled group of engineers who have built several dozen ICs in mass production and are helping build world class products that will power tomorrow’s automotive battery management and video solutions. You will help the design team verify complex chips that includes various analog and digital control circuitry and work very closely with all aspects of chip design – from developing verification environment to creating test environment for mass production of these ICs. You will work closely with digital and analog design team for verification, as well as applications and test engineering team for validating and testing on-chip solutions. You will work existing and emerging standards for automotive. You will be tasked with verifying ICs at top level and at IP level that contain blocks like PLLs, DACs, ADCs, comparators, serializers, de-serializers and much more. You will have an opportunity to work on developing new verification infrastructure, develop new standards and shape the company’s pathway for success. Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities will be a mix of the following:

  • Develop verification environment including test-benches, test-cases in Cadence analog, digital and/or AMS environment.
  • Help integrate various stimulus, bus-functional models and DUT to develop a comprehensive environment for verification.
  • Develop verification plans that provide high functional coverage for all modules and IPs within a top-level design.
  • Develop novel stimulus and checkers to automate the verification flow
  • Running block and top-level simulations within Cadence environment or in batch mode
  • Work with the design team on new verification and BIST methodologies
  • Work with ATE engineers to develop test vectors for various analog and digital Ips
  • Develop high quality documentation and hold verification reviews.
  • Help develop and complete project checklists for verification and simulation related items prior to tapeout and follow-up support when silicon is back.

Qualifications

This position is open to candidates with some relevant experience with verification environments in

  • 5-15+ Years’ experience in working with Digital and Analog mixed-signal environment and teams.
  • Must have good written and verbal cross-functional communication skills and be capable of paying attention to detail.
  • Must have an analytical mind - be open to persuasion and have capability to persuade others
  • Must have proven experience with at least a few of the following:
    • Creating Verification infrastructure (test-bench, environment, scripting)
    • Scripting of verification flows, design automation
    • Debugging verification testcases with industry standard tools such as Simvision, Verdi or other waveform viewers
    • Knowledge of existing and upcoming standards such as AMBA, I2C, SPI, MIPI, LVDS, HDMI, DisplayPort etc.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with both analog and digital designers and understand design constraints.
  • Knowledge of Mixed-Signal Cadence tools and methodology for parasitic-extraction and simulation is a plus
  • Knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM Test environment and methods is a plus
  • Working knowledge of revision control tools such as SOS, SVN is a plus

 

Education

 

• BSEE required (MSEE preferred)
