RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Principal Staff Applications engineer responsible for integrated power switching regulator products for Renesas' industrial power department.
  • Interface with design, test, product and packaging engineers to successfully bring new products from initial concept through release to production.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: new product definition, bench validation of new products, validation and calibration of product SPICE-like models, development and validation of customer evaluation boards, generation of technical documentation, and customer interface and support.
  • Customer interactions including design support and troubleshooting. Analysis and laboratory emulation of customer applications is often required.



REQUIRED SKILLS / COURSEWORK DESIRED:

  • BSEE or higher.
  • 15+ years industry experience in power management especially in the DC-DC converter, and knowledge of both isolated and non-isolated switching power supplies is necessary.
  • Circuit design and analysis experience on SPICE-like tools is necessary.
  • Competency in the laboratory, from hardware construction to measurements, is a must.
  • Knowledge of thermal analysis and magnetic component design a plus .
  • Significant experience directing or performing layout of high frequency DC-DC switching converters.
  • Background with IC fabrication and design is a plus.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, verbal and written in English, are essential to this position.
