Title:  Sr Application Engineer

Opportunity for a knowledgeable, motivated individual to join our team as a cellular embedded software applications development engineer. Primary daily activities will include customer engagement, mapping and executing the customer applications requirements to the product offerings. The successful candidate is expected to have a sound system knowledge of cellular modules/SoCs, network architectures, protocols, interfaces, and respective data services. Experience in embedded software/firmware development, cellular test, certification, qualification, and evaluation processes, and understanding on regional coverage of 3G, 4G, and 5G networks to apply to market demands.

Technical Focus Areas

·       3GPP –LTE, NB-IOT 4G, and 5G architecture; LTE to 5G interworking and call flows

·       Embedded software/firmware development

·       Wireless SoC system understanding

·       Understands SW architecture of an embedded wireless MCU/SoC

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead and support the chipset and module qualification and certification, supporting regional market deployments, firmware developments.

·       Support and manage conformance testing with outside certification body and labs

·       Perform technical evaluations of customer application boards and Integration of the modem chipset and module.

·       Work closely with engineering teams to define the requirements and to drive the timely and quality release of new products and features.

Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree with a major in wireless and embedded technologies focus or equivalent work experience graduated from an accredited university/college.

·       Direct experience with LTE CAT-M1, NB-IOT, 4G, 5G, functional elements and technologies

·       Working knowledge of network protocols such as: IPv4, IPv6, application protocols such as UDP, TCP, FTP/S, HTTP/S, MQTT, CoAP, LwM2M, DLMS

·       Is well versed with different SW tools, IDEs, C/C++ language etc.

·       Good knowledge and experience with embedded systems, firmware and porting/building applications

·       Exposure to various RTOS like FreeRTOS, Embed, SXOS, Zephyr and Linux development environment.

Desired Attributes:

·       5+ years of technical experience with wireless network technologies, ideally cellular

·       Has lead customer support activities which has resulted in a design in.

·       Can manage customer expectations and deadline.

·       Embedded application software development experience

·       Experience in RF testing and certification with network carriers

·       Analytical and problem-solving skills

·       Ability to collaboratively work in hybrid team environments.

·       Strong, efficient, and effective written and oral communication skills

·       Strong organizational and leadership skills

·       Comfortable working with emerging technologies
