Job Function:  Business Systems Analyst

I. Responsibilities:

 

  • Administer, create and manage all aspects of the database environments with a focus on database creation, tuning, management and continuous operations.
  • Active member of project teams in the evaluation, design, acquisition, testing and implementation of new databases, business software and associated infrastructure to implement new major project initiatives.
  • Contributor with the creation of future strategies and directions.
  • Display mature judgment and troubleshooting skills to research issues, provide solutions, and communicate them concisely. Works independently managing ones’ own workload, based on priority defined by management.
  • Maintains database software currency by researching, testing and implementing vendor patches/releases. Participate in technology forums and industry user groups.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
  • Maintain database platforms with proper upgrade and patching cycles
  • Develop processes and standards for best-practice optimization of database platform configurations, performance, backup/recovery, and security
  • Expertise with utilizing database management tools for all supported database technology disciplines
  • Ensure all monitoring, dashboards and processes are in place to meet SLAs.
  • Required availability for on-call rotation and off shift work.

 

 

II. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

 

  • Experience with Oracle database installation / configuration best practices and Database upgrade/migration approaches.
  • Experienced in administration of databases versions 12c/18c/19c
  • Experience installing, building, upgrading and supporting Oracle RAC environment, ASM, Grid/Cluster.
  • Extensive experience in Oracle Data Guard replication and physical standby for Disaster recovery
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager monitoring.
  • Experience with RMAN configuration, Job maintenance and Backup & Recovery, Cloning, Duplication
  • Experience in database/application performance tuning and monitoring tools including AWR, ADDM, ASH.
  • Experience in database problem identification, problem diagnosis and resolution.
  • Experience in building data architecture models and enforcing enterprise architecture standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to work on high performing teams and deliver under pressure situations
  • Oracle Public Cloud experience would be highly beneficial.

 

 

III. Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields or equivalent experience
  • Proven work experience between 5 to 9 years as a Database administrator.
  • Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to address complex tasks, consistently deliver to project scheduled completion.
