I. Responsibilities:
- Administer, create and manage all aspects of the database environments with a focus on database creation, tuning, management and continuous operations.
- Active member of project teams in the evaluation, design, acquisition, testing and implementation of new databases, business software and associated infrastructure to implement new major project initiatives.
- Contributor with the creation of future strategies and directions.
- Display mature judgment and troubleshooting skills to research issues, provide solutions, and communicate them concisely. Works independently managing ones’ own workload, based on priority defined by management.
- Maintains database software currency by researching, testing and implementing vendor patches/releases. Participate in technology forums and industry user groups.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
- Maintain database platforms with proper upgrade and patching cycles
- Develop processes and standards for best-practice optimization of database platform configurations, performance, backup/recovery, and security
- Expertise with utilizing database management tools for all supported database technology disciplines
- Ensure all monitoring, dashboards and processes are in place to meet SLAs.
- Required availability for on-call rotation and off shift work.
II. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
- Experience with Oracle database installation / configuration best practices and Database upgrade/migration approaches.
- Experienced in administration of databases versions 12c/18c/19c
- Experience installing, building, upgrading and supporting Oracle RAC environment, ASM, Grid/Cluster.
- Extensive experience in Oracle Data Guard replication and physical standby for Disaster recovery
- Strong knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager monitoring.
- Experience with RMAN configuration, Job maintenance and Backup & Recovery, Cloning, Duplication
- Experience in database/application performance tuning and monitoring tools including AWR, ADDM, ASH.
- Experience in database problem identification, problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Experience in building data architecture models and enforcing enterprise architecture standards and guidelines.
- Ability to work on high performing teams and deliver under pressure situations
- Oracle Public Cloud experience would be highly beneficial.
III. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields or equivalent experience
- Proven work experience between 5 to 9 years as a Database administrator.
- Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding, and documentation.
- Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to address complex tasks, consistently deliver to project scheduled completion.
