Renesas Control Solutions group is looking for a software engineer to design and build motor control and power conversion solutions for electric vehicle technology.  Algorithm development for 3 phase motor control, digital power conversion, as well as functional safety implementation will be required. Position will also utilize a good understanding of HW and system level integration, with emphasis on working with high voltage systems.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in electrical or computer engineering w/ 12+ yrs experience
  • Experience in motor control and/or control theory, control loop tuning and dyno testing
  • Field-oriented control of 3 phase motor systems, sensored/sensorless
  • Excellent knowledge in C and embedded microcontroller programming
  • RH850 experience a plus
  • Good knowledge of communication protocols, CAN, ethernet, etc.
  • Embedded microcontroller debug w/ HIL real-time problem solving skills
  • Real-time operating system knowledge
  • Matlab/Simulink algorithm simulation
  • Understanding of analog power supply design and simulation
  • Comfortable with frequency domain analysis and methods
  • Automotive functional safety experience (ASIL D)
  • Excellent communication skills, work in global communication environment
  • Work with customers to understand and implement feature sets
  • Able to troubleshoot customer issues as well as train/explain technical
