Senior Manager Field Application Engineering

 

What to expect

As Head of the Field Application Engineer for Automotive Analog and Power products, you will define, implement and control all activities of the team to fulfill the design in objectives and maximize the future business for Automotive Business Unit products in United States, across all sales channels and according to the business development programs agreed with management.

 

In your new role you will:

  • Define and monitor the design-in goals for Automotive Analog and Power Products in the United States in alignment with Regional Sales and Business Unit management.
  • Feedback to Automotive Business Unit on demands and requirements from markets and customers. Represents the regional unit for all issues related to customer requirements for Automotive Analog and Power Products.
  • Identify the projects with high sales growth potential and assign the organization demand creation resources to maximize design wins, securing the support of the relevant Business Unit departments.
  • Appoint Field Application Engineers to all qualified projects and set priorities in agreement with management. Monitor and manage the demand creation activities/projects through internal and customer reviews.

 

Management and Leadership:

  1. Technical leadership – being the technical expert and go-to person in the specialized products/technologies/applications.
  2. Team developer and coach – leading, developing, and coaching the team, technically and behaviorally; acting as a role model.
  3. Team player – being closely connected with key stakeholders and peers, including BU, global engineering teams, sales, and local management; ensuring the collaboration smoothness, efficiency, and effectiveness. Leveraging the global teams’ expertise to boost demand creation.
  4. Communicator, organizer, and implementer – being the communication hub and organizing tasks/projects of the Automotive Analog and Power Product FAE team.

 

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • Bachelor above degree in electronic/electrical engineering
  • 8+ years of work experience in (field) application engineering or R&D in Analog and Power Products. Familiarity with the automotive environment and applications is a plus.
  • 3+ years of team management experience, with a passion to develop and coach the team.
  • Experience with thermal, EMC/EMI, and transient simulation tools for Analog and Power products
  • Familiarity with battery, thermal and power management, power conversion, signal sensing, and conditioning, motor control
  • Capable of establishing open and trusting relationships with customers, driving demand creation/design win, and creating profit.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high degree of flexibility, self-motivation and business orientation
  • Comfort and success experience working in a matrix organization.
