Renesas Electronics America is seeking an experienced Staff Field Applications Engineer with direct, practical, hands-on experience in automotive embedded development and support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for understanding, demonstrating and explaining Renesas’ automotive Power device features, and supporting customers through all stages of the design, development and production process.



  • Provide problem solving support for our customers developing designs using our Power devices including the following:
    • Answering technical questions related to our products
    • Debugging Firmware or configuration problems
    • Device usage design reviews
    • Creating Sample usage and Application Notes
    • PCB design reviews
    • Interact with technical resources in U.S., Europe and Japan
  • Manage technical interaction between Renesas and the customer
  • Recommend products for new designs
  • Provide failure analysis expertise
  • Coordinate and participate in customer technical training
  • Support Sales and Marketing in the introduction of devices to customers
  • Provide internal feedback on future customer requirements



  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills
  • 7+ years of experience in Analog & Power IC-centric design and application development
  • 2+ years in an embedded technical support role preferred
  • Strong background in Automotive embedded ECU Development
  • Strong background with appropriate development tools.
  • Strong Communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to work independently with a motivated self-driven style
