This is an opportunity to join the Renesas mobile battery charger team focusing on Power Management / Mixed-Signal designs. Position is based out of our Durham, NC design center.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate new product development from initial design phase to full production release.
  • Perform data analysis for limit setting, yield enhancement, product cost reduction and device reliability improvement.
  • Perform reliability and characterization testing of new products.
  • Perform lab evaluation of electronics components and systems.
  • Utilize knowledge of semiconductor fabrication process to support wafer fabrication.
  • Validate production test systems.
  • Perform failure analysis to resolve qualification failures, both internal and from customer returns.

 

Skill Requirements:

  • BSEE (MSEE pref.) or equivalent with 8 years’ professional industry experience in a product engineering role.
  • Knowledge of operation and testing of mobile power management products, with battery charger IC experience preferred but not required.
  • Good critical thinking skills to troubleshoot a variety of challenging issues.
  • Strong failure analysis techniques to diagnose and improve analog/mixed-signal IC's.
  • Knowledge of IC manufacturing processes including fab, assembly and test.
  • Statistical analysis capability. Knowledge of JMP, Gauge R&R, limit setting and DOE methodology a plus.
  • Experience with bringing new products from definition to production release including characterization and reliability testing.
  • Bench evaluation capability. Knowledge of Labview, Python or similar programming languages a plus. Experience with PCB layout also a plus.
  • Good communication, team working, and interpersonal skills are a must.
  • High degree of flexibility in managing a volatile and demanding workload is also a must.
