The Renesas Mobile Power Team is seeking an enthusiastic student who is focused on power electronics to work with our high performance DC-DC power converter product development team. The internship entails working under the guidance of a mentor to understand and characterize the performance of a mobile power controller.

 

The candidate will be exposed to the product development cycle of a power management IC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Learning our advanced control architecture with a mentor
  • Product validation and characterization (hands-on work in the lab) with guidance
  • Technical documentation preparation
  • Schematic generation and layout exposure using Cadence tools
  • Set up and execution of simulations of power converter circuits using Simplis
  • Interfacing with other engineering discipline
  • Competitive analysis
     

Qualifications:

We are looking for a self-starter with leadership skills and expertise in the following areas:

  • Working towards a degree in Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering
    • Required courses: Analog circuits, control theory, and modeling of analog circuits
  • Basic DC/DC converter topology exposure desired
  • Use of equipment such as oscilloscope, power supplies, electronic load, and function generator and basic lab troubleshooting skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
