Renesas Electronics Europe is seeking a Junior/Graduate Engineer to join the Microcontroller (MCU) Application Engineering team to provide high quality product support directly to our customers through multiple contact channels.

The focus of the role will be to provide general support for our advanced MCU devices across the EMEA region, as well as provide in-depth support for a small range of specialist application areas.


This is an entry level position ideally suited to a recent graduate with one or two years of experience in an electronic design or development position. The AE role will encompass a broad range of disciplines so a desire for continuous development is strongly sought.


The role will entail developing additional technical expertise in a broad range of disciplines, including analogue and mixed-signal, low power, and capacitive touch, to support these complex application areas directly with customers.


Role Responsibilities


-    Provide detailed technical support to customers, Renesas technical staff, and distributor FAEs on all aspects of our general purpose IoT MCU products and solutions.
-    Become an expert on MCU platforms from our 16-bit RL78, and 32-bit RX and ARM based families.
-    Provide on-going support for new and existing customer programs, either directly though the various online support channels Renesas operates, or by supporting the local Field Application Engineers.
-    Provide technical expertise to Renesas Marketing, Business Development and Sales teams.
-    Participate in internal and external facing Design Reviews of MCU-based boards, systems, and firmware/software.
-    Assist in HW and SW bring-up and debugging.
-    Work with Marketing and Business Development teams to align Renesas product promotion objectives with customer design and development activities.
-    Implement engineering processes to ensure the highest quality support and designs.
-    Manage technical projects with partners and external design houses.



-    Some experience in developing electronic products and systems (MCU-based and embedded systems preferred)
-    Embedded programming experience (using C language)
-    Good understanding of schematic and hardware design, preferably related to microcontrollers. Experience of analogue design and implementation is an advantage.
-    Good understanding of serial protocols including SPI, I2C etc.
-    Debugging of complex Analog or Digital based products/systems.
-    Batchelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.  Masters preferred.
-    Fluent English speaker



-    Key technologies including sensing, analog-to-digital data conversion, Low Power and Security.
-    Experience working with remote and global teams.
