To further strengthen our strategic sales team, we are looking for a qualified & experienced Engineering Technician to help with critical design and validation efforts for key Server and Computing accounts in Texas. The position will be based in Austin, Tx. Expected travel less than 10% (ex. FAE trainings, Company Meetings, etc.).
- Ownership of all rework, test, and validation activities for server and computing motherboard designs in customer lab environment
               - Rework of QFN devices, Power SPS devices, as small as 0201 components and 0.4mm pitch pins, BGA, etc.  
               - Work with FAE to fine-tune VR for validation testing
               - Test to Intel SVID and AMD SVI CPU test specs – complete all necessary tests and record results in validation spreadsheets
               - Test to customer requirements and complete test reports for customer review
- Contribute to debug of circuit issues
- Contribute to Layout and Schematic reviews 
- Contribute to sales team by identifying potential new opportunities and feeding back valuable performance information and customer feedback
- Represent Renesas as the face of the company at the customer lab


Desired Skills:
- Experience with Intel or AMD CPU validation and test plans, including Intel SVID and AMD SVI
- Experience with Intel Test Plans and VR14 SVID spec is preferred
- Experience with Digital Multiphase Power VR controllers and Smart Power Stages for CPU power rails
- Experience with Point-of-Load (POL) VRs
- Ability to review SCH & BRD files and contribute to circuit debug efforts, find and report issues, etc.
- Ability or interest to learn Python for instrument and test automation


- Adept at use of LAB equipments: Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Power Supplies, DC Loads, GPIB, USB, and Data Acquisition and Automation.
- Knowledge of reading schematics, bench test setup and trouble-shooting.
- Top notch soldering skills and ability to debug and rework server and computing motherboards, including QFN PKGs, power PKGs like SPS, BGA, and 0201 component rework skills.  Speed and quality are required.
- Interpersonal Skills : Need to be able to work closely with strategic sales team and communicate effectively and proactively both internally within organization and externally with customer.  Must work well on a high functioning team accustomed to high performance and the success that accompanies such performance.


- AA or AS degree in Electronics or equivalent work experience (10+ years expected)
